Position Overview:The Plant Accountant is responsible for overseeing all accounting functions including month-end processes, preparing financial reports, reconciliations, payroll, sales commissions, and accounts payable.Duties And Responsibilities:Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, the Plant Accountant responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, the following: Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare journal entries to accounts documenting business transactionsPrepares GL Account and Bank ReconciliationPrepares financial statements and other reports to summarize the company's financial position including but not limited to;Month end reporting8th day reportingGainshare analysisSite Communication meeting informationMaintains Accounting Policy databaseIdentifies control gaps, develops and implements appropriate control procedures to resolve control deficienciesAssists in preparation for internal and external auditsDevelop financial analysis and cost accounting skillsResponsible for execution and coordination of physical inventoryPerformance Management for any direct reportsOversees payroll and AP functionsPerforms other job-related duties as required or assignedMinimum RequirementsBachelor's degreeSolid understanding of accounting concepts and GAAPProven track record of working in a team environment with a variety of departmentsExperience working with an ERP systemThree (3) years Plant Manufacturing experiencePreferred RequirementsBachelor's degree in accounting or financePackaging industry experienceIBMi AS400 experience
