DescriptionFinding the right fitWe are seeking a dynamic

of the position is to assist project managers and other technical
office staff in the development of water resources projects and to
provide meaningful work experience to engineering/environmental
students in a job closely related to their field of study.This is a
temporary position for the summer months of 2025.On a given day,
you'll:Works under the direct supervision of engineering
staff.provide field assistance during wetland delineations,
sediment sampling and hydrosurveys, and on-call construction
observation roles (not expected to be more than two consecutive
days on a construction site).Use your knowledge of plant
identification, hydric soils, wetland hydrology indicatorsLearn to
independently collect field survey data using a handheld GPS.Assist
with report writing to document field observations, collect desktop
study data.Prepare technical reports required by the project
scope.Required Qualifications & Physical RequirementsValid Driver's
license and good driving record requiredCompleted college level
coursework in plant identification and soil classification.Strong
written/verbal communications skills and the ability to operate
independently.Regular lifting, carrying material or equipment of
moderate weight (of 50 pounds or less).Occasionally lift equipment
of moderate weight in and out of vehicle or overhead.Occasionally
push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop and climb
ladders.Occasionally work in environments with extreme temperatures
and weather conditions.Occasionally work on water within boat or
while wearing waders.Occasionally longer field days over 8
hours.Occasionally overnight stays in a hotel.Frequently walk over
uneven, wet terrain and challenging fauna / flora habitats.Desired
Education and ExperienceCurrently working towards a degree in soil
science, conservation, or related field.Experience in soil
judging.Willingness to attend UW-La Crosse Wetland Training
Workshop (June 2025).Experience in ArcGIS and AutoCAD.WDNR or
